Job Description

The Automation Engineer role at Adapta Controls leads automation initiatives through the full lifecycle, from initial design and programming to checkout and ongoing maintenance. This onsite position in Midvale, Utah involves interfacing with clients across diverse platforms and includes travel as part of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead an automation project for the entire life cycle from initial design to programming to checkout to maintenance years later
  • Be prepared to learn and program on any platform; solve a range of technical problems with creative approaches
  • Interface with a broad spectrum of clients and customers
  • Communicate technically and personally with clients at all position levels
  • Design, program, commission, and troubleshoot: PLCs with Rockwell experience required
  • Design, program, commission, and troubleshoot: HMIs
  • Design, program, commission, and troubleshoot: Robotics with Fanuc experience preferred
  • Design, program, commission, and troubleshoot: Machine Vision
  • Design, program, commission, and troubleshoot: Motion and Motor Control
  • Design, program, commission, and troubleshoot: Machine Safety
  • Design, program, commission, and troubleshoot: Electrical Design with AutoCAD experience helpful
  • Design, program, commission, and troubleshoot: Communications and Networking
  • Travel is required and will vary in frequency and duration

Requirements

  • Proven experience demonstrating the skills and responsibilities listed above
  • PLC Programming: 3 years required
  • Rockwell experience required
  • Ability to communicate technically and personally with clients at all position levels
