Job Description

Opportunity at a glance This on-site Automation Project Engineer role in Berwick, PA offers a competitive salary range of $75,000 to $125,000 per year and a robust benefits package that includes 401(k) with matching, health, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, paid time off, and retirement planning. You will lead and support control systems initiatives across client facilities, design control architectures, and develop process control solutions, drawing on expert-level experience in system administration and implementation. A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (or an associate degree with equivalent experience) is required, with 7+ years in a control systems environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee ongoing administration of one or more active control systems projects, delivering expert support to client systems and facilities.
  • Propose, develop, and implement process control solutions informed by knowledge of process equipment.
  • Design electrical and mechanical control panels, generate control system drawings, and program PLCs, operator interfaces, and networking configurations.
  • Lead or assist in control system qualification and commissioning protocols.
  • Manage limited-scope automation projects, developing and executing practical implementation plans.
  • Develop and revise process control requirements and specifications, ensuring alignment with safety, cGMP, environmental, and quality regulations.
  • Support the design and implementation of automation projects with small to intermediate scope.
  • Develop PLC, HMI, and SCADA software applications to realize control system solutions.
  • Identify problems, collect data, and derive sound conclusions from technical instructions and complex variables.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable state and federal regulations, as well as company and site policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related discipline, or an Associate’s degree with equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in a control systems integration environment, including troubleshooting and supporting capital projects.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business publications, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce reports and correspondence and interact effectively with vendors, teammates, and customers.
  • Proficiency with computerized tools such as Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
  • Experience with Rockwell Automation, GE, and/or Siemens software and hardware is preferred.
  • Automation project management experience is preferred.
  • Capability to multitask, work independently, and collaborate well within a team.
  • Applicants must reside within 60 minutes of Berwick, PA.
