Job Description

TalentStream offers a competitive salary range and a hybrid work arrangement in Phoenix, AZ, with three days on site per week. This Avionics Software Engineer role centers on DO-178 certified software development for safety critical aerospace systems, involving designing, developing, testing, and certifying embedded software through cross-functional collaboration with systems, hardware, and test engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, test, and maintain avionics software for aerospace applications.
  • Develop software in accordance with DO-178 processes and certification requirements.
  • Collaborate with systems, hardware, and test engineering teams across the development lifecycle.
  • Participate in software architecture reviews, design reviews, code reviews, and verification activities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software defects while supporting system integration efforts.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation to support software development and certification.
  • Ensure software meets performance, reliability, and safety requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent software development experience.
  • Experience developing avionics software in accordance with DO-178 standards.
  • Proficiency in C and/or C++ programming.
  • Experience with Flight Controls or Flight Management Systems (FMS).
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and engineering best practices.
