AWS Lead Software Engineer-Full Stack/Java/SpringBoot

Lead AWS full stack software engineer role within JPMorgan Chase Payments Technology, onsite in Tampa, FL, delivering secure, scalable Java and Spring Boot solutions in an agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Designs and implements innovative software solutions, covering architecture, development, and debugging with a focus on solving nonstandard problems.
• Writes secure, production‑grade code and performs reviews and debugging of colleagues’ work.
• Identifies opportunities to automate recurring remediation tasks to improve stability and reliability of applications and systems.
• Guides evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, credentials, and fit within existing systems and information architecture.
• Leads communities of practice to promote awareness and adoption of new and leading‑edge technologies across software engineering.
• Promotes enterprise authorized AI assisted engineering practices to enhance code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes, while establishing validation standards and encouraging reuse of effective patterns.
• Leverages SDLC tools and enterprise AI assisted development capabilities to maximize automation value.
• Contributes to a team culture focused on diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.

Requirements

• Formal training or certification in software engineering with five plus years of hands‑on experience.
• Practical coding experience in Java, Spring Boot, JPA, SQL, and REST.
• Experience with event driven architectures using Kafka.
• Proven ability to build RESTful backend applications with Spring Boot and robust relational databases, including Oracle.
• Proficiency with version control systems such as Git.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, exemplified by tools like Jenkins.
• Hands‑on experience in system design, application development, testing, and maintaining operational stability.
• Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
• Proven leadership in adopting approved AI assisted development tools, with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Solid understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption within delivery practices.
• Strong grasp of cross cutting concerns such as application resiliency and security.
