CAD Design Engineer - ITER [CATIA]

GEM Technology seeks a skilled CAD Design Engineer to contribute to the ITER project from Oak Ridge, operating in a hybrid work setup. Using CATIA V5, the role focuses on modeling and drafting Electron Cyclotron and Ion Cyclotron Heating Systems, with citizenship and deep CAD proficiency as prerequisites. Summary

The CAD Design Engineer will model and document heating system components for ITER using CATIA V5, ensuring alignment with US ITER processes. The role requires U.S. citizenship and a minimum of seven years of CAD-related experience, including 3D modeling and detailed drawings for complex mechanical, electrical, or piping systems.

Responsibilities

• Modeling and drawing preparation in accordance with US ITER processes
• Model and drawing checks, including usage of the Q-Checker tool
• Drawing review and approval workflow management
• Creation of bills of materials and work estimates
• Configuration management and revision control for models and drawings
• Generation and maintenance of 3DVIA model viewer files
• Production of figures and illustrations derived from CAD data

Requirements

• AS/Associate degree with 7+ years of experience creating 3D models and drawings for complex mechanical, electrical, or piping systems
• ASME codes and standards knowledge with 7 years of experience
• CAD proficiency with 7 years of experience
• Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering experience totaling 7 years
• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) expertise with 7 years
• 3D modeling experience spanning 7 years
• CATIA proficiency with 7 years
• US citizenship is required
