Civil/Municipal Engineer
Job Description
This full-time Civil/Municipal Engineer role is onsite in Pittsburgh, PA, focusing on site development and municipal projects managed by KU Resources, Inc.
Responsibilities
- Lead or support stormwater management design, including hydrologic and hydraulic analyses
- Prepare and review construction drawings, reports, calculations, and permit packages
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D for site design and drafting
- Perform municipal engineering design and plan review to ensure compliance with zoning, SALDO, and regulatory requirements
- Review land development plans and coordinate with municipalities, clients, and project teams
- Support MS4 compliance efforts and erosion and sediment control design
- Attend planning commission, zoning board, and council meetings as needed
- Coordinate with engineers, surveyors, architects, and regulatory agencies
- Assist with project management, scheduling, and proposal/budget preparation
- Oversee or support construction phase services, including shop drawing review, RFIs, and site inspections
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in site development and/or municipal engineering
- Strong experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Proven experience in stormwater design using Hydraflow, PondPack, HEC-RAS, or similar tools
- Demonstrated ability to review plans for code and ordinance compliance
- EIT required; PE or ability to obtain within 1 year preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- Leadership or staff management experience is a plus
