Commercial Electrical Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and testing of electrical systems for commercial buildings, including developing and validating electrical designs.
• Create electrical drawings and layouts using CAD software such as AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve issues within electrical systems to support safe, reliable outcomes.
• Apply strong technical knowledge of electrical theory, codes, and industry standards to guide design decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems with mechanical and structural components.

Additional Qualifying Factors

• As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening (post accepted offer) and have acceptable background check results.
• If applicable to the contract, you must obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to maneuver around work sites, see, hear, and verbally communicate with coworkers and clients.

• Proper use of PPE at all times, including hard hats, steel toed boots, eye protection, respiratory protection, and hearing protection (as required).
• Maintain a constant state of mental alertness.

Working Conditions

• Combination of office and outdoor site locations.
• Office setting includes exposure to computer screens and extensive computer, keyboard, and mouse use.
• Outdoor settings include walking, driving, and carrying supplies throughout all seasons with exposure to heat and cold conditions, and potentially wildlife.
• Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.

Reporting & Compensation: This position will report to the office location in Huntsville, AL at Redstone Arsenal. Salary is negotiable based on experience.
