Job Description

Custom Manufacturing & Engineering builds advanced automation solutions for manufacturing and inspection environments, and this role helps turn those needs into working software. You will support a 4-day work week (most weeks) while developing custom collaborative robot (cobot) control integrations, AI/ML applications, and the GUIs that operators and technical teams rely on.

What you’ll work on

  • Develop and/or support iterative enhancements to new in-house software applications and tools used for business and technical operations.
  • Own full-stack AI and machine learning development, including deploying, scaling, and integrating machine learning models into user-facing applications.
  • Design and deploy ML models for deep learning in support of computer vision, inspection data, and ERP/operations use cases, including opportunities related to robotics and unmanned systems/drones.
  • Create and maintain robust API interfaces that connect internal AI/ML platforms with external enterprise software and security API needs, including Microsoft Defender for Endpoint API and CrowdStrike Falcon API.
  • Build scalable data pipelines to ingest, transform, and sync data between ML models and third-party enterprise APIs.
  • Design and implement cobot applications, multi-cobot workstations, and simulation environments.
  • Develop scalable GUIs and reusable software components for data pipelines and manufacturing dashboards.
  • Analyze and optimize code for performance, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and management teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Support or lead small team technical proposals and guide peers on advanced automation and ML projects.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 1–4 years of programming experience with core languages including Python (Advanced), C++, R, and Java.
  • ML/AI frameworks and libraries: PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, and Hugging Face Transformers.
  • Data processing and databases including Pandas, NumPy, Apache Spark, SQL, and PostgreSQL.
  • MLOps and deployment experience with Docker, Kubernetes, MLflow, AWS (SageMaker), and GCP (Vertex AI).
  • Version control and collaboration tools: Git, GitHub, GitLab, and Jira.
  • Strong background in scalable software design, API development, and testing practices.
  • Familiarity with data science.
  • Bonus: experience with recommendation systems, pattern recognition, or large-scale software architectures.

Compensation and logistics

$68,000 - $78,000 per year. Onsite role in Pinellas Park, FL.
