Controls Design Engineer
Job Description
The Controls Design Engineer will develop electrical and controls schematics and documentation for custom bulk material handling equipment and integrated systems at National Bulk Equipment in Holland, MI (onsite).
Responsibilities
- Perform Electrical Schematic Design using AutoCad Electrical for standard electrical component selection, schematic development, control panel layout, control panel bill of materials, terminal box layouts, and component tag generation.
- Support additional documentation requirements such as P&IDs, Interconnection Diagrams, Single Line Diagrams, Conduit Schedules, Harness Lists, Instrument Lists, I/O Lists, P&IDs and other documents per customer specifications.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers, project managers, and sales/application engineers to fully understand project scope and functional requirements.
- Interpret customer specifications to ensure all electrical design outputs meet requirements and NBE engineering standards.
- Participate in design reviews, offering recommendations for improved functionality, efficiency, or cost-effectiveness.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with AutoCAD Electrical or similar electrical CAD software.
- Solid understanding of AC/DC electrical systems, safety systems, and automation components.
