Job Description

Everforth invites experienced professionals to join as a Controls Engineer in Richardson, TX. This onsite role centers on hands-on work with building automation systems, spanning design, programming, and project coordination across commercial and industrial environments. Expect collaboration with project managers, contractors, and end users throughout the project lifecycle, with a clear path from concept to turnover.

Responsibilities

  • Design BAS solutions aligned with project requirements
  • Develop control drawings, system architecture, and sequences of operation
  • Create points lists and equipment schedules
  • Review mechanical and electrical documentation to ensure accurate system integration
  • Select appropriate field devices, controllers, and network components
  • Program controllers and develop system logic, graphics, alarms, and user interfaces
  • Utilize Niagara N4 for system configuration and integration
  • Configure communication protocols including BACnet IP and Modbus
  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and end users throughout the project lifecycle
  • Maintain organized documentation and version control for all system files
  • Support system turnover activities, including client training

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of experience in BAS or HVAC controls engineering
  • Experience with DDC, PLC, or ladder logic programming
  • Familiarity with Niagara N4 environments
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems such as VAV, AHU, chillers, boilers, and VRF systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Working knowledge of BACnet and Modbus communication protocols
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with design and documentation tools such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or Visio
