Position overview
Fortune Brands seeks a Controls Engineer to provide technical leadership within the Butler Manufacturing Operations. You will maintain and optimize control systems to ensure smooth production and peak performance, lead projects from concept through installation and startup, and drive continuous improvement while fostering a safety oriented culture.
Responsibilities
- System development for automated equipment, including drafting electrical drawings and control specifications
- Program and optimize control logic on Allen Bradley PLC platforms using Rockwell Automation tools
- Provide technical guidance to maintenance staff to diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions
- Lead capital projects, coordinate with external resources and vendors, and oversee installation and startup of new equipment
- Identify lean opportunities to improve equipment operating efficiency and ergonomics
- Modify equipment controls to enhance reliability and safety, with a solid understanding of OSHA requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) preferred; equivalent professional experience considered
- Minimum of five years of controls engineering experience
- Manufacturing environment experience required; prior work for an equipment builder or integrator is a plus
- Strength in Rockwell Automation software and Allen Bradley PLC systems
- Experience with Fanuc Robotics
- Ability to draft and interpret electrical schematics
