Controls Engineer
Job Description
Hartmann Packaging is hiring a Weekend Controls Engineer to support manufacturing operations from our Rolla, MO site. This onsite role works on a 12 hour, 2-2-3 rotation schedule and focuses on analyzing, troubleshooting, and improving electrical and automation systems used in the plant.
The position covers support for process and equipment automation, including PLC/HMI/SCADA changes, documentation updates, and electrical schematic revisions for equipment modifications. You will collaborate closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Project teams to address issues, build efficiencies, and reduce downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide automation support for plant process and equipment.
- Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and Project teams.
- Develop and design PLC (Allen Bradley), HMI (Allen Bradley), and SCADA changes as needed.
- Modify existing applications requested by process or operations teams to generate reports and data that improve operating efficiencies and reduce downtime.
- Support issue resolution and provide training.
- Maintain and troubleshoot VFD’s.
- Maintain documentation and keep PLC and robot programs updated.
- Design and maintain electrical schematics for equipment changes using AutoCAD format.
- Promote and demonstrate Hartmann core values and leadership behavior.
Required Qualifications
- University Degree in Electrical Engineering (Bachelor’s preferred). College Certified Engineering Technologist will be considered.
- Three to five years of experience in a manufacturing environment in automation controls.
- Excellent computer skills.
- PLC, Servo, and HMI programming experience.
- RSLogix 5000 and Studio 5000 experience.
- Allen-Bradley FactoryTalk ME & SE experience.
- 2D CAD design capability.
- Ethernet IP experience.
- Experience with the development of control system network architectures.
- Excellent analytical, technical, problem-solving, research, and teamwork skills.
- Organizational skills to manage projects with minimal supervision.
- Required: relocate to Rolla, MO 65401 before starting work.

- ABB and Fanuc robot programming experience.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: USD 80,000 - 90,000 per year
Schedule: 12 hour, 2-2-3 rotation schedule
