Search Masters, a global leader in engineered metal products, is seeking a Controls Engineer to advance electrical engineering, project management, and automation enhancements at our Newport News, VA manufacturing facility. Responsibilities

• Provide electrical engineering leadership and project management to boost plant operations and drive continuous improvement
• Oversee electrical and controls aspects of capital projects, process improvement initiatives, and equipment upgrades
• Manage projects end-to-end from planning and design through installation, startup, and commissioning
• Apply programming expertise across automation platforms including PLCs, HMIs, servo drives, VFDs, and SCADA systems
• Assess and implement improvements to automation and control systems to optimize plant performance
• Develop electrical panel layouts using 3D design tools

Requirements

• BS Degree in Engineering required
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with programming electrical systems such as PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs
• Broad familiarity with a wide variety of automation brands and platforms is highly desirable
• Ability to work with diverse legacy systems and drive modernization and upgrade efforts
• Proficiency in 3D design packages for electrical panel layout
