Cyber RF Software Engineer Senior Staff

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Senior Staff Cyber RF software engineer to lead DSP and RF software development in an Agile environment, directing teams and delivering high-assurance solutions. The role is based onsite in Hanover, MD, and combines hands-on coding with strategic guidance across C++, Python, Kubernetes, Git, and CI/CD practices to advance mission-critical RF capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee one or more software development teams and ensure work aligns with the defined software development process for each project.
• Mentor and guide engineers to support their growth and skill development.
• Consult on user requirements and translate them into software design and performance targets.
• Design and code new software or modify existing code to add features; debug and fix defects.
• Recommend improvements to documentation and software development process standards.
• Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or environments, requiring deep knowledge of C++, K8, Python 3.0, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Operate within Agile Sprint Development methodologies on projects involving Digital Signal Processing and RF technologies.

Requirements

• Active security clearance with polygraph.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with a DSP focus from an accredited institution; MS in Engineering/CS is specified as an equivalency option.
• Equivalency: MS in Engineering/CS + 2 years of experience or 4 years of DSP experience + high school diploma.
• Minimum 12 years of experience developing DSP algorithms on projects that follow established software processes.
• Minimum 12 years of professional programming experience using C++, Linux, and Python (or equivalent languages).

• Salary: USD 150,800 - 265,880 per year
