Job Description

Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to operate, secure, and monitor cloud infrastructure in AWS GovCloud, translating DoD requirements into actionable guidance for technical teams and shaping cloud-based security architectures for critical systems. This onsite role in Arlington, VA centers on hands-on cloud security work that aligns government standards with engineering delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, secure, and monitor cloud infrastructure, including system hardening, patching, and vulnerability management.
  • Understand and translate DoD requirements from stakeholders to technical teams, ensuring solutions meet those requirements.
  • Develop cloud-based security architectures for some of the most critical systems.
  • Utilize the latest cloud technologies to secure customers' environments.
  • Automate security events in the cloud and implement cloud-based security solutions.
  • Adopt Zero Trust architecture as a guiding security principle.

Requirements

  • Experience securing cloud infrastructure and applications in AWS GovCloud
  • Experience with Authority to Operate (ATO) and DoD cloud SRG requirements
  • Experience with CMMC authorizations
  • Knowledge of centralized logging, boundary defense, web application firewalls, system patching, RBAC, and vulnerability scanning
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II or IAT Level III Certification

Clearance

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. A Secret clearance is required.

Compensation

The position carries an annual salary range of $62,000 to $141,000 (USD). Salary is determined by location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. This range represents the typical salary for the role and is one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package.

Identity verification

As part of the hiring process, Booz Allen may require identity verification that uses biometrics and artificial intelligence to ensure authenticity and prevent fraud. Interviews and assessments may be conducted on camera, and a photograph may be taken to verify identity.

Work model

  • Remote: If listed as remote, there may still be occasions requiring in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility.
  • Hybrid: If listed as hybrid, you will be expected to work from a Booz Allen facility frequently, with possible visits to a customer facility.
  • Onsite: If listed as onsite, work will be primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, with collaboration required as the role demands.
