Role snapshot
The CyberSecurity / Network Engineer will manage internal IT infrastructure and device security, deliver cloud and on-premise infrastructure solutions, and coordinate between internal teams and external customers on select projects. The position includes implementing NIST 800-171 controls within a small business environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee internal IT infrastructure and device security while supporting cloud and on-prem solutions.
- Assist IT Technicians, System Administrators, and other staff with project delivery for infrastructure initiatives.
- Bridge internal and external IT efforts, including communication with customers on selected projects.
- Implement NIST 800-171 controls in a small business setting.
- Document system design, configuration changes, IT SOPs, and administrative policies and procedures.
- Create clear end-user guides and deployment strategies; develop and revise internal security policies for leadership review.
- Produce technical documentation for customer-focused systems and applications.
- Support research and troubleshooting of IT issues and contribute to process improvements.
- Evaluate new technologies to enhance system performance and find cost-effective IT solutions.
- Configure backup, storage, and recovery procedures; manage security configurations in Azure, O365, Nessus Tenable, Veeam, and Microsoft Sentinel.
- Conduct server and device health checks; troubleshoot and configure Certificate Authority for the network.
- Monitor systems daily and respond to Microsoft Sentinel incidents by severity; provide custom infrastructure solutions as needed.
- Potential on-call and off-hours work; research, troubleshoot, and recommend IT solutions; provide end-user training as necessary.
- Handle security incidents, maintain documentation, and support security tool configuration and maintenance (firewalls, IDS/IPS, antivirus).
- Apply security patches, contribute to system hardening, and assist with audit preparation and compliance reporting.
- Support end-user security inquiries and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
Requirements
- CySA+ Certification, Security+, and CCNA
- OS Administration experience across Windows 10, Windows Server, Linux (Ubuntu, Debian), and MacOS (2 years required)
- Network Administration / Network Engineering experience (2 years required)
- Cisco ASA configuration and maintenance (2 years preferred)
- Azure and O365 Administration (2 years required)
- Microsoft Sentinel / SIEM experience (2 years preferred)
- Hyper-V Management
- Intune MDM and Endpoint Management
- Backup and Recovery experience (2 years preferred)
- Scripting in Python and PowerShell
- HT Condor / OpenTDA configuration and Mac Mini cluster design experience (preferred)
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance (CMMC 2.0, NIST 800-171)
- Resourcefulness, problem solving, and onboarding experience for employees
- Proven interest in cybersecurity and ongoing professional development
- Adaptability to new technologies and evolving security threats

- Work hours 9 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday
- Weekend work and overtime may be required

Location and schedule
On-site role in Alpharetta, GA 30005. Relocation before starting is required. Full-time position with work hours 9:00 to 17:00, Monday through Friday. Weekend and overtime may be required to meet business needs.
