Job Description
The Data Engineer will design, implement, and sustain scalable, cost-conscious data pipelines and analytics solutions on Microsoft Azure. This onsite role in Dublin, OH partners with stakeholders to ensure data quality and enable enterprise analytics and reporting, requiring a minimum of five years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines in Azure using services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Lake.
- Ingest and consolidate data from diverse sources—APIs, databases, and files—into centralized analytics repositories.
- Develop and manage ETL and ELT workflows to transform raw data into analytics-ready models aligned with business needs.
- Architect microservices that scale with business growth and integrate AI capabilities.
- Construct data pipelines that supply AI models with clean, structured logistics data.
- Implement real-time analytics engines to support predictive logistics functionalities.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance through validation, monitoring, and alerting mechanisms.
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to gather data requirements and ensure alignment between data assets and organizational needs.
- Adopt cost-aware data engineering practices to optimize performance while managing cloud consumption and storage costs.
- Maintain and enhance a semantic data layer or curated datasets to support self-service BI and advanced analytics.
- Contribute to the architecture of the data platform, focusing on security, scalability, and performance.
- Automate data operations and deployment processes using CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools such as ARM, Bicep, or Terraform.
- Stay current with Azure innovations and propose improvements to existing data workflows.
- Fulfill additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Proven experience building and managing data pipelines within Microsoft Azure environments.
- Proficiency with Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Data Lake, and Power BI integration.
- Strong SQL skills, data modeling expertise, and familiarity with ELT/ETL patterns.
- Experience working with APIs, JSON, and mixed data sources (structured and unstructured).
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally to define and deliver high-quality data solutions.
- Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to handle multiple tasks, set priorities, and work both independently and in diverse teams while meeting deadlines.
- Flexible availability to accommodate business needs.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated leadership and effective communication with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance in a dynamic environment.
- Logistics or Supply Chain experience is preferred.

Position Type and Expected Hours
This is a full-time role. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with a one-hour lunch, totaling 40+ hours per week. The role may require additional hours outside standard business times based on business needs.
