Data Engineer
Job Description
PeopleTec, Inc. is hiring a Data Engineer for its Huntsville, AL location (onsite). What you’ll do
As a Data Engineer, you will support development, optimization, and tuning of data pipelines. Responsibilities include applying ETL practices and working with tools and frameworks such as Spark and NiFi, while operating in Linux environments. You will also apply performance evaluation approaches to machine learning outputs, including statistical techniques used to assess ML model performance.
Key responsibilities
- Build and maintain data pipelines (development, optimization, and tuning)
- Support ETL workflows using technologies such as Spark and NiFi
- Apply knowledge of statistical techniques to evaluate ML model performance
- Work with version control and CI/CD processes using git and GitLab
Required qualifications
- U.S. citizenship
- Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility required upon hire and must be maintained during employment
- Education: BS or B.A. Degree
- Experience level alignment: Junior (2-5 years), Mid (5-8 years), Senior (8-10 years), SME (10-12+ years)
- Experience with Python, Java, or Scala and AWS
- Knowledge of Natural Language Processing (NLP)
- Experience using git and GitLab for CI/CD
- Competence with ETL, Spark, NiFi, and Linux
Additional technology skills
- Exposure to Perl and PL/SQL
- Familiarity with Postgres
- Informatica is a plus
- Additional AWS experience
