Data Engineer

Pathway Partners is hiring an experienced Data Engineer to support a client team deploying applications for a government agency. This hybrid role is based in New York, NY and focuses on practical data import, reporting, and Microsoft Power BI development within a new Power BI framework. You will help deliver reporting outputs that support key business decisions while working closely with a project execution team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with managing project execution from start through completion
• Import key data points from multiple reporting sources, including reporting databases and an Enterprise data warehouse
• Create business reports that summarize key metrics based on data after import from reporting databases
• Build ad-hoc reports driven by data metrics
• Create business reports for other departments, including tracking using relevant metrics
• Serve as a Microsoft Power BI SME, advising on business report creation and workspace management within the new Microsoft Power BI framework as needed
• Create new Power BI assets including reports, datasets, and dashboards, including paginated reports as needed

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of experience with Oracle and MS SQL Server 2028, including SQL and PL/SQL
• Minimum 4 years of experience with Microsoft Power BI, MS Excel, and VB Script

Work Location and Schedule

• Location: NYC, hybrid schedule (3 days in-office, 2 days remote)
• Candidates must live in commuting distance from NYC
• Typical workday: 7-hour workdays
