Job Description
Slalom is hiring a Data Engineer to support the delivery of complex Data and AI projects. The role focuses on building data solutions with Databricks and partnering with cross-functional teams to design and optimize scalable data pipelines for business and analytics needs.

- Houston, TX (onsite)
Role Responsibilities
- Develop and implement data solutions using Databricks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and optimize data pipelines
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of data engineering experience, including 1+ years of hands-on data pipeline design and development with Databricks
- Proficiency in designing and building robust, scalable configuration-driven data pipelines
- Proficiency with Big Data platforms: Apache Spark, Presto, and Amazon EMR
- Experience with cloud data warehouses: Amazon Redshift, Snowflake, and Google BigQuery
- Strong programming skills, including SQL, Python, and Java (and similar languages)
- Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform
- Familiarity with building DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
- Exposure to AI/ML tooling such as MLflow, prompt engineering, and modern data/AI agentic workflows

Compensation
- Hourly pay range: $50/hr to $80/hr
- Actual compensation will depend on skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors
