Job Description

Data engineering role in Washington, DC (onsite) with a team that supports federal, state, and local government and commercial clients. MATRIX SYSTEMS & TECHNOLOGIES INC has been established since 1996, providing IT and engineering services across the full delivery lifecycle, including software testing and quality assurance, project management, requirements analysis, implementation support, and IT staff augmentation. This position focuses on building and maintaining the data foundations that enable reliable analytics and integrations.

As a Data Engineer, you will develop and support data ingestion, transformation pipelines, and integrations spanning cloud, relational, and NoSQL environments. The salary range is USD 70,000 to 95,000 per year. The position is suited for candidates with approximately 4 to 8 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain data ingestion and transformation pipelines.
  • Build and support ETL/ELT workflows using AWS Glue and Informatica.
  • Integrate data from MongoDB, Amazon Aurora/RDS, Oracle, and other sources.
  • Develop SQL queries and support source-to-target data mapping.
  • Validate data accuracy and completeness, and investigate processing failures.
  • Monitor pipeline reliability and performance and document operating procedures.

Requirements

  • Approximately 4 to 8 years of relevant data engineering experience.
  • Experience with AWS Glue and Informatica.
  • Experience working with MongoDB, Amazon Aurora/RDS, and Oracle.
  • Strong SQL skills, including data mapping and integration.
  • Experience building and troubleshooting ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Ability to collaborate with application developers, analysts, and testing teams.
