Job Description
Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Data Engineer to design, implement, and operate distributed systems that collect and process log events, then turn that information into reliable pipelines, warehouses, metrics, and dashboards. This onsite role in Bellevue, WA focuses on building scalable data flows and improving operational performance so teams can make informed recruiting and business decisions.
In this position, you will monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues, develop automation for large-scale processing, and help shape future storage, reporting, and analytics solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and automate deployment of a distributed system for collecting and processing log events from multiple sources.
- Design data schema and operate internal data warehouses and SQL/NoSQL database systems.
- Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards used by engineers, analysts, and data scientists.
- Monitor and troubleshoot operational or data issues in the data pipelines.
- Drive architectural plans and implementation for future data storage, reporting, and analytic solutions.
- Develop code based automated data pipelines that can process millions of data points.
- Improve database and data warehouse performance by tuning inefficient queries.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Data Scientists, and other internal partners to identify opportunities and problem areas.
- Assist with troubleshooting, researching root cause, and resolving defects when issues arise.
Requirements
- 3+ years of data engineering experience.
- 2+ years of experience developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using ETL/ELT processes.
- 2+ years of experience developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using OLAP technologies.
- 2+ years of experience developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using data modeling.
- 2+ years of experience developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using SQL.
- 2+ years of experience developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and ELT (Extract, Load, Transform).
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field.

Compensation and Location
Location: Bellevue, WA (onsite)
Salary: USD 132,100 - 178,800 per year
