Job Description

This remote role is based in Alexandria, VA and requires residency in the Washington, DC metro area. Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and select the optimal technology mix for the infrastructure dashboard data platform, including databases, processing frameworks, and orchestration tools.
  • Establish data storage solutions with an emphasis on long-term scalability.
  • Ingest live data from multi-domain sources via API or other appropriate mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with domain experts to understand RDT&E data being ingested and implement modeling controls for anomalies and structural differences.
  • Build a robust data pipeline to load and transform data into a STF-ready model, accounting for near-term and long-term data goals.
  • Define and enforce data governance policies, including data quality standards, lineage tracking, and metadata management; communicate these policies to analysts and stakeholders.
  • Monitor and optimize database and data model performance and security; conduct periodic pipeline health checks and data validity testing.
  • Partner with data stakeholders and the analytics team to ensure data and architecture meet the needs of requested visualizations and analyses.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data architecture, data models, pipeline jobs, and related processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in database and dashboard development.
  • Strong experience with databases, data processing frameworks, and orchestration tools.
  • Proficiency in API integration and data ingestion from various sources.
  • Experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and data pipeline development.
  • Expert proficiency in PowerBI
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
