Job Description
This onsite Data Engineer, Product Analytics role in New York, NY offers a yearly salary range of USD 147,000 to 208,000 and invites you to join a collaborative, data-driven environment. You will design scalable data solutions, guide data architecture, and deliver insights that shape product development across Meta’s apps for billions of users and businesses worldwide. You will work closely with software engineers, data scientists, and product managers to optimize growth, strategy, and user experience.
Responsibilities
- Own and design the data architecture for multiple large-scale projects, weighing design quality against cost and operational tradeoffs.
- Develop and contribute to frameworks that improve data logging efficacy, collaborating with data infrastructure to triage issues and implement fixes.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to understand data needs and present key insights in meaningful ways.
- Define and govern Service Level Agreements for data sets within your areas of ownership.
- Establish and enforce a security model based on privacy requirements, ensure safeguards are followed, address data quality issues, and evolve governance processes within your domains.
- Design, build, and deploy sophisticated data models and visualizations that support multiple use cases across different products or domains.
- Address complex data integration challenges using effective ETL patterns, frameworks, and query techniques, sourcing from structured and unstructured data.
- Assist in owning production processes, optimizing code using advanced algorithmic concepts.
- Improve pipelines, dashboards, frameworks, and systems to streamline the development of data artifacts.
- Influence product and cross-functional teams to identify data opportunities and drive impact.
- Mentor team members through actionable feedback and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 4 years of experience with data as a primary focus, including roles such as data analyst, data scientist, data engineer, or similar.
- At least 4 years of experience with SQL, ETL, data modeling, and at least one programming language (for example Python, C++, C#, Scala).
