Data Scientist for Analytics (Engineer/Scientist Support)
Job Description
At CACI, the Data Scientist for Analytics (Engineer/Scientist Support) supports government-led assessments of Defense and Integrated Combat Systems through data analysis, scripting, automation, and technical reporting. This on-site role in Norco, California requires a DoD SECRET clearance and may involve occasional travel to support test events.
Responsibilities
- Analyze data from Defense and Integrated Combat Systems training, testing, and evaluation events to identify performance trends, collaborating with senior analysts on system data interpretation. A basic understanding of radar principles is helpful but not required, including how radar signals relate to target detection.
- Support the development and maintenance of automated scripts using MATLAB or Python to streamline data extraction, cleaning, and transformation; training and mentorship will be provided.
- Prepare draft technical inputs, summaries, and visual presentations that support government-led reports and briefings.
- Communicate analysis inputs effectively to government analysts and leads.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, sharing knowledge and coordinating with government and contractor members as directed.
- Assist in refining and documenting data analysis workflows, documentation, and reporting processes under government direction.
- Proactively expand knowledge of Defense and Integrated Combat Systems, analytical tools, and related technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET clearance.
- Willingness and ability to travel occasionally.
- Flexible schedule during test events and surge periods.
- Capacity to work in stationary positions (sitting or standing) for extended periods.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Willingness to work on site in Norco, California.
- Working knowledge of MATLAB or Python; coursework or personal projects are valuable.
- Experience or familiarity with tool verification and validation practices.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Familiarity with core data analysis techniques and visualization tools.
- Quick to learn new systems, tools, and technical domains.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset.

Salary
The proposed salary range for this position is: 69,600 - 142,700 USD per year.
