Design Engineer

Work onsite in San Diego, CA supporting a US Navy Program as a Design Engineer. This role combines design-focused documentation with configuration management support during production and installation, helping keep schedules, ship-check activities, and test events aligned as design and performance changes occur. Compensation starts at $140,000 annually, with flexibility based on experience.

What you’ll be doing

In this position, you will plan, integrate, track, coordinate, and execute installation management activities while analyzing installation and production operations and systems. You will provide recommendations for risk reduction strategies and contribute to technical support for production and installation Configuration Management, including recommendations for how to track, report, and manage production, procurement, and installation activities.

• Track all installation changes, approvals, and related documentation
• Coordinate ship-checks, site surveys, and installation schedule activities
• Support configuration management with technical recommendations to manage production, procurement, and installation activities
• Prepare and update installation documentation including JCFs, ICDs, SIDs, EDDs, and SCDs
• Develop shore-related products such as Standard Plans, Test Plans, Installation SOVT Reports, BESEPs, FRCB inputs, IDPs, and Site Survey Reports
• Update, maintain, and modernize engineering documentation during production as a result of the ECP process
• Prepare, review, and support test plans, test readiness review briefings, and test events

Minimum qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Systems Engineering
• Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline or Industrial Design
• Security clearance: Secret
