Electrical Controls Engineer

Innovative Handling is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to assess and refine manufacturing processes, driving productivity gains through collaboration with cross-functional teams and customers to implement effective control systems. This onsite role in Sylvania, Ohio focuses on designing, programming, and commissioning automated solutions to support packaging and material handling initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Utilize Rockwell Automation software such as ControlLogix/RSLogix 5000, SLC 500/RSLogix 500, EtherNet/IP design/configuration, and FactoryTalk View to support controls projects.
• Evaluate and troubleshoot automation systems composed of PLCs, AC/DC drives, and HMI interfaces to maintain reliable operation.
• Develop and modify PLC programs and advise on hardware choices to resolve production issues.
• Design control architectures and produce necessary drawings for implementation.
• Document changes and maintain revision history for existing automated systems.
• Maintain up-to-date PLC and computer software/hardware information and records.
• Engage in electrical engineering activities including hardware design, systems integration, PLC and motion programming, HMI configuration, component specification, project management, and the start-up and commissioning of capital projects.
• Support maintenance personnel in troubleshooting, testing, modifying, and installing electrical equipment and control systems.
• Integrate and program Fanuc robotics within automated environments.
• Work with automated material conveyance systems using VFDs, PLCs, and servo motion controls.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is recommended; 5 years of electrical controls experience are required.

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.

Onsite in Sylvania, OH 43560. This position is in-person.
