Electrical Design Engineer

QT Corporation is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer, also known as an Automation-Electrical Designer, to join the on-site team in Goldsboro, NC. The role centers on designing and updating electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts using AutoCAD Electrical, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and coordinating design documentation across engineering, manufacturing, and field teams. The position offers a salary range of USD 70,000 to 85,000 per year.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts using AutoCAD Electrical
• Develop and maintain drawing libraries, symbol standards, and project templates
• Collaborate with engineers to translate specifications into accurate technical drawings
• Perform design reviews and ensure drawings comply with industry standards (UL 891, UL 508A, NEC, IEC, etc.)
• Manage drawing revisions and maintain organized project files
• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and field teams on design documentation

Requirements

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Drafting/Design Technology, Electrical Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum 2+ years of experience with AutoCAD
• Familiarity with electrical symbols, standards, and schematics
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong command of engineering fundamentals, analytical methods, and industry best practices
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences
