Electrical Engineer

The Electrical Engineer position at NEWCOMB & BOYD LLP is based in Durham, NC with a hybrid work arrangement. The role focuses on the design, analysis, and implementation of MEP-T systems for small to medium projects, leading design efforts and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams under minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of discipline-specific systems for small to medium projects using Revit and modeling/calculation tools.
• Assist senior engineers with complex designs, plans, and calculations.
• Perform calculations and simulations.
• Review product submittals and shop drawings.
• Respond to RFIs for assigned scope.
• Conduct site visits and prepare reports.
• Prepare technical documentation and participate in project meetings.
• Ensure project delivery within agreed schedules and budgets.
• Comply with QA/QC procedures and assist in developing project workplans.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 4+ years of engineering experience in the AEC industry.
• Proficient in Revit and discipline-specific software.
• Strong grasp of building codes and design standards.
• Relevant professional licensure or certification preferred (EIT, PE, CPD, FPE, RCDD, etc.).
