Electrical Engineer OR Principal Electrical Engineer – Vehicle Subsystems & Integration
Job Description
Northrop Grumman seeks an Electrical Engineer or Principal Electrical Engineer to lead Vehicle Subsystems and Integration efforts, with on site work at multiple U.S. locations.
Responsibilities
- Design electrical wiring for a functional aircraft system, selecting aircraft type conductors and electro mechanical components such as connectors, relays, switches, circuit breakers, and terminal junctions.
- Support design requirements for electrical power generation, conversion and distribution systems, and circuit protection for aerospace vehicle systems, including Electrical Loads Analysis, test procedures, power architectures, reports and analyses, and other power related deliverables.
- Manage all aspects of system and component design and development, including trade studies, layouts, architecture definition, system test and verification, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate on a subcontractor management team and serve as the technical point of contact with suppliers for hardware development, qualification, and procurement.
- Plan system level tests, provide execution support, perform verification, process data, and troubleshoot outcomes.
- Conduct system level evaluations to verify requirements and ensure airworthiness criteria are met.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related STEM field with 2 years of electrical engineering experience; OR Master’s degree in a related STEM field with 0 years of electrical engineering experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related STEM field with 5 years of electrical engineering experience; OR Master’s degree with 3 years of electrical engineering experience; OR PhD in a related STEM field with 1 year of electrical engineering experience.
- Experience in electrical design of air vehicle systems.
- Current, active US Government Secret clearance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP).
