Electrical Engineer, Product Design

Kinequip, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer, Product Design to join the Belmont, North Carolina team on site. The role focuses on designing, testing, and transitioning electrical systems to production, with firmware development for lighting and control products, all while collaborating with cross-functional teams across the company.

The position supports the full product lifecycle from concept through production release, ensuring designs meet specifications and integrate smoothly with mechanical and software elements.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems and components for various applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project requirements are met.
• Conduct testing and validation of electrical systems to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Transition designs to production.
• Interface with vendors.
• Prepare and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Document designs, processes, and test results for future reference.
• Develop and maintain firmware for various lighting and control products.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience with a minimum of 2+ years in an electrical design role.
• Component selection, schematic design/capture, and PCB layout experience; Altium preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing individual responsibilities effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail.
