Electrical Field Engineer

An onsite electrical field engineering role within Olsson coordinates electrical construction activities for an industrial client as part of the construction management team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate electrical construction tasks within the facility, operating under guidance from senior construction leadership.
• Supervise contractor work on electrical scopes to ensure alignment with project plans, schedules, and quality standards.
• Direct installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems, collaborating with mechanical and other discipline leads as required.
• Work with project stakeholders to ensure adherence to objectives, specifications, and safety requirements.
• Contribute to creating and executing schedules for plant shutdowns and downtime events on product lines.
• Track progress for assigned scopes, identify risks or issues, and escalate concerns as needed.
• Ensure compliance with site safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
• Help maintain project documentation and generate status updates for leadership and client stakeholders.
• Foster a collaborative culture focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Requirements

• Strong communication abilities.
• Proven ability to contribute as a team member and collaborate effectively.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Two to five years of progressive experience in electrical construction, electrical systems oversight, or industrial capital projects.
• Ability to maintain constant alertness and work safely.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
