Engineer - Senior

An experienced Senior Engineer will join DTE Energy in a hybrid role based in Belleville, Michigan, bringing leadership to engineering activities and field teams across our electric operations. The position focuses on planning and directing complex engineering assignments, applying advanced techniques to solve problems, and mentoring staff while collaborating with a range of internal and external partners. This role emphasizes data-driven decision making, project coordination, and clear communication with management and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee key projects and field engineering tasks with intricate features, coordinating resources and directing execution.
• Conduct engineering studies, propose solutions, build models, and analyze data to support improvement programs and techniques.
• Collaborate with other departments, vendors, suppliers, and reliability groups to ensure aligned outcomes.
• Prepare and support presentations of engineering initiatives for management and external stakeholders such as contractors and customers.
• Organize and manage team workflows to meet budget and schedule targets.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced staff as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology plus at least 4 years of relevant experience.
• Master's Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
• Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
• Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
