Job Description

In Raleigh, Siemens Energy seeks a FACTS Project Engineer to lead the design and execution of high-voltage FACTS EPC projects, driving cross-functional collaboration to deliver design criteria and packages that guide construction and operation. The role centers on safety, compliance, and delivering on schedule and within budget while serving the communities that rely on robust electrical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Create project design criteria and assemble comprehensive design packages to guide construction and operation.
  • Lead FACTS projects that are essential to clients and the communities they serve.
  • Ensure on-time delivery and budget adherence while maintaining top quality and safety standards.
  • Cultivate collaboration among internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to drive successful outcomes.
  • Promote proactive risk management to address issues before they affect project execution.
  • Maintain strict compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Provide effective leadership that motivates and empowers project teams.
  • Contribute to a balanced and sustainable energy future.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications.
  • Hands-on experience in HV substation design and construction.
  • Professional Engineering license is preferred but not required.
  • 3–5 years in engineering roles within high-voltage substation EPC projects.
  • Strong understanding of high-voltage equipment and electrical engineering principles.
  • Proficiency in engineering design, analysis, and implementation, including developing and reviewing technical documentation and specifications.
  • Ability to create and evaluate engineering designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve engineering challenges.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with project teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience ensuring environmental, health, and safety compliance in engineering practices.
