Field Service Engineer (m/f/d)
Job Description
Field Service Engineer (Eltra) position with Verder Scientific Inc. in Newtown, PA, hybrid, delivering on-site and remote technical service for ELTRA elemental analysis instruments.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting by phone, email, and on-site visits; perform in-house diagnostics, repairs, and calibration of ELTRA instruments.
- Prepare and issue quotes for spare parts and service work; document all activities in the ERP system.
- Assist in commissioning new equipment at customer sites and conduct preventive maintenance on customer equipment per service agreements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts and end users.
- Maintain VSUS laboratory units; keep the workspace clean, organized, and safe at all times.
Requirements
- Education: An Associate’s Degree in Electrical or Technical field is preferred; alternatively, a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a maintenance or service technician in a laboratory or industrial setting, with basic knowledge of mechanical systems and components.
- Technical experience: solid understanding of single-phase and three-phase electrical systems; proficient with diagnostic tools such as multimeters, clamp meters, and standard hand tools; ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings.
- IT skills: experience with CRM and ERP systems is highly preferred; strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Additional skills: strong organizational abilities with meticulous attention to detail; excellent written and verbal communication.
- Location and travel: based in Newtown, PA; willing to travel up to 70 percent, including overnight trips; hybrid work arrangement.
