Job Description

AppWork is building an AI infrastructure that helps Sales and Marketing operate more effectively. As a GTM AI Engineer (hybrid in Saint Petersburg, FL), you will map GTM workflows, remove bottlenecks, and create AI tools and agents that support reps and marketers. The role emphasizes building, integration, and adoption so the systems you create are actually used and measurable.

Your first focus

  • Month one (learning): sit with reps and marketing to understand processes end to end and identify where the real friction lives.
  • Month two (building): turn insights into working prototypes, test with the people who will use them, and refine quickly based on what sticks.
  • After month two (scaling): build AppWork’s AI infrastructure long term, including new tools where none exist, integrations where they do, and the training and rollout needed for adoption.

What you’ll be doing

  • Partner directly with reps and marketing to map day-to-day processes and pinpoint bottlenecks worth solving.
  • Design and build AI tools and agents from scratch when no off-the-shelf solution fits, rather than only wiring existing software together.
  • Connect and automate across the current stack, including HubSpot, ClickUp, Slack, and others, when that approach is genuinely the right one.
  • Keep a balance between strategic architecture (how everything should connect) and fast prototyping, small tests, and iteration driven by real usage.
  • Own the change that comes with new tooling: train the team, drive adoption, and be the go-to person when something does not land.
  • Measure adoption and impact for what you ship, then use that data to decide what to double down on and what to stop.
  • Serve as the applied AI subject matter expert for GTM, staying ahead of what is possible and translating it into what is useful at AppWork.

What you’ll need

  • Versatility across strategy and hands-on building, plus comfort leading non-technical teams through change.
  • A builder’s mindset: prototype and learn from results rather than drafting a long plan and waiting.
  • Strong technical ability with real experience building systems, such as custom AI agents and automations, scripts, or integrations (not just template configuration).
  • Comfort with both no-code and low-code tools (including Zapier, Clay, and HubSpot workflows) and code (including Python, JavaScript, or similar) when the problem requires it.
  • Experience getting to working answers in ambiguity without a playbook.
  • Experience leading change with non-technical teams, including training and staying with the rollout until it takes hold.
  • Strong instincts for translating business pain into a technical solution and explaining it in plain language.
  • Curiosity about AI systems and agents, with strong judgment about where they create real value versus where they become noise.

Tools you’ll work with

HubSpot, ClickUp, Slack, Zapier, Clay, Python, JavaScript

Benefits

  • Competitive salary
  • Equity
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage

Nice to have (not required)

  • Prior experience building AI agents or applied AI tools in a business setting.
  • Background in revenue operations, sales, or marketing.
  • Experience in multifamily, proptech, or another vertical SaaS business.

Why this seat

  • You will not inherit a system. You will build one.
  • Direct line to the CRO with real autonomy over approach.
  • Opportunity to help define what an AI-first GTM organization looks like at AppWork.
