Job Description
Verkada is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Business Systems Engineering team in San Mateo, CA (onsite). In this role, you will build and improve tools used by Go to Market teams, with an emphasis on identifying bottlenecks and reducing friction across business-critical workflows.
You will deliver technical solutions that support data relied on by sales, order, finance, and support teams, while improving observability, reliability, and data correctness across interconnected systems.
What you will do
- Design and implement technical solutions spanning AWS, Salesforce, and NetSuite
- Improve systems observability and invest in reliability and correctness of data
- Use customer empathy to propose system improvements
- Lead projects from ideation through release
- Help and mentor junior engineers
What you bring
- 5+ years of software engineering with a focus on distributed systems at scale
- Experience shipping customer-facing products or internal tools
- Ability to stay flexible and adaptive in a fast-paced startup environment
- Passion for observability and reliability
- In-depth expertise in distributed systems and data processing
- AWS Cloud experience touching foundational components including Kubernetes, Fargate, Lambda, Airflow, Athena, DynamoDB, VPC, and EC2
- Bonus: Experience with data infrastructure and data analytics

Compensation
USD 180,000 - 260,000 per year.
