I&C Engineer

Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking an experienced I&C Engineer to support the Savannah River Site from an on-site location in Aiken, South Carolina. The role centers on instrumentation and control systems engineering, delivering analyses, field walk-downs, and design development, while producing the design output documents that define system requirements and specifications. This position requires five years of design experience in the nuclear or chemical process industries and hands-on PLC/DCS design work.

Responsibilities

• Provide support engineering services including engineering analysis
• Conduct field walk-downs
• Lead design development
• Generate design output documents for instrumentation and control systems
• Develop P&IDs
• Design and review control logics
• Create loop diagrams
• Compile instrument indices
• Prepare setpoint lists
• Specify instruments and control valves
• Design DCS and PLC configurations
• Plan instrument location and installation design
• Produce panel layouts
• Review vendor documents

Requirements

• Five (5) years of design experience in the nuclear or chemical process industry
• Demonstrated design experience with PLCs and distributed control systems
• Ability to walk-down systems in the field
• US Citizenship
• May travel off-site to interface with vendors, fabricators and other Engineering organizations
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or I&C Engineering
