Job Description

PNC Financial Services Group offers a competitive compensation package for this onsite Senior Infrastructure Engineer role in Birmingham, AL. The base salary ranges from $91,000 to $202,800 per year and the position is eligible for incentives based on company, business unit, and individual performance. The benefits program covers medical and prescription drug coverage with a Health Savings Account (HSA), dental and vision, employee and spouse/child life insurance, short and long term disability protection, and a robust retirement and investment suite including a 401(k) with a company match, pension and stock purchase plans. Additional support includes dependent care reimbursement, back-up child and elder care, adoption and surrogacy reimbursement, educational assistance (including select programs fully paid), a wellness program with financial incentives, maternity and parental leave, up to 11 paid holidays per year, occasional days off, and 15 to 25 vacation days per year. Location: Birmingham, AL (onsite).

Responsibilities

  • Building Automation: Creating platforms and pipelines to provision servers, databases, and networks programmatically.
  • System Abstraction: Developing APIs, microservices, and reusable frameworks so other developers can deploy code without worrying about underlying hardware.
  • Site Reliability & CI/CD: Writing automated testing and deployment routines to ensure zero-downtime releases.
  • Configuration Management: Using code to enforce consistency across production, testing, and development environments.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of industry-relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Languages: Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, or AWS CloudFormation.
  • Containerization & Orchestration: Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • DevOps Practices: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD.
  • Configuration management: Ansible.
