Lead Data Engineer II

The Lead Data Engineer II role on Deloitte’s AI & Data team focuses on designing and delivering scalable data solutions for client engagements. This position leads small engagements or key workstreams, coordinates distributed delivery efforts, and supports the quality of team deliverables while contributing hands-on to implementation.

Role Overview

As part of the AI & Data practice, you will lead the design and delivery of technical solutions across client engagements. The work spans enterprise data platforms and distributed data architectures, with responsibility for guiding teams through engagement lifecycle activities and ensuring delivery quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead small engagements or key workstreams within larger client technology transformation programs.
• Manage cross-functional distributed delivery teams and client relationships across the engagement lifecycle, including contributions to proposal and business development efforts.
• Oversee the quality of team deliverables and recommendations, while contributing to hands-on solution delivery across distributed teams.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering and distributed data platforms, including enterprise data model design, ingestion pipelines, ETL processes, data lakes, and big data solutions.
• 3+ years of experience designing and developing AWS-based data engineering solutions, including hands-on use of AWS Glue, EMR, EKS, S3, Lambda, RDS, OpenSearch, and CloudWatch.
• 2+ years of experience leading and delivering engagements with geographically distributed, cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, data science, artificial intelligence, information technology, or a related field.
• Ability to travel up to 50% on average, based on the work performed and the clients and industries or sectors served.
• Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.
