Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of their engineering team.
  • Provides coaching and development opportunities for their team through regular interactions.
  • Develops the design scope and timeline for their discipline within engineering projects.
  • Responsible for meeting project requirements and timelines.
  • Researches, creates, and updates engineering design standards to promote best practices.
  • Supports the design of electrical components and sub-systems for power and low voltage products including component selection, wire harness creation, assembly design, and installation.
  • Performs complex design calculations to ensure compliance with project requirements or reviews others' work for correctness.
  • Studies and understands related government and industry standards governing the products under development.
  • Produces documentation to meet project goals, including electrical schematics, component prints, assemblies, and compliance documents.
  • Interacts regularly with Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Industrial Engineering teams.
  • Participates in and presents technical information during design meetings or reviews.
  • Supports the creation of 2D prints and 3D models at a system level.
  • Helps develop product bill of materials structures to enable modularity and configurability.
  • Reviews Bills of Materials and Change Notices to release components and assemblies.
  • Supports costing activities to ensure pricing targets are achieved at the project level.
  • Supports the creation of technical manuals for operation and maintenance of related products.
  • Provides technical assistance for prototype and pilot builds along with production support as needed.
  • Collaborates with suppliers to integrate components into higher level system designs.
  • Supports service, aftermarket, and installation teams as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of experience.
  • Working knowledge in 2D/3D CAD design software (Inventor, CATIA, SolidWorks, Creo).
  • Significant design experience with low voltage electrical circuits, wire harnesses, PLC controllers, and complex electrical systems.
  • Design experience in electrical components or equipment within the energy industry preferred.
  • Design experience with programming languages and controls software preferred.

Travel

Travel is expected to be in the range of 10 to 25 percent.

Work Location

This role is onsite at the Menasha, WI office, with a focus on providing workplace and schedule flexibility to support a healthy work life balance.

Work Schedule

Working hours are 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with a schedule that meets the needs of the role.
