Responsibilities

• Delivers innovative software designs and code, solving complex technical challenges beyond standard approaches.
• Produces secure, production-ready code and conducts reviews and debugging for peers.
• Identifies opportunities to automate remediation and reduce recurring issues to strengthen operational stability.
• Drives team adoption of enterprise authorized AI assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and outcomes, while establishing validation standards and promoting reuse of effective patterns.
• Leverages SDLC toolchain knowledge, including AI assisted development and automation capabilities, to maximize automation value.
• Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to probe architectural designs and determine applicability within existing systems.
• Spearheads communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote awareness and adoption of new technologies.
• Contributes to a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.

Requirements

• Formal training or certification in software engineering with five or more years of hands-on experience.
• Proficiency in Python and Django, with experience in JavaScript and SQL.
• Proven track record guiding teams in using approved AI assisted development tools, with standards for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; experience mentoring others on safe, compliant adoption.
• Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Proficiency with automation and continuous delivery practices.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the full Software Development Life Cycle.
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies including CI/CD pipelines, application resiliency, and security.
• Proven proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline such as cloud, AI/ML, or mobile.
• Deep knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT ecosystems.
• Practical cloud native experience.
