Machine Learning Engineer
Job Description
Zoom is hiring a Machine Learning Engineer to design, implement, and optimize GenAI algorithms and scalable machine learning systems in a hybrid setup based in Seattle.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize GenAI algorithms, techniques, and solutions for complex business challenges
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate research findings into scalable engineering solutions aligned with business objectives
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical presentations to support quality and reliability
- Find improvement opportunities in existing systems and propose innovative approaches to enhance performance, scalability, and reliability
- Stay current with the newest GenAI research and engineering developments to strengthen technical capabilities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or foreign equivalent)
- 3 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation
- 3 years of experience with:
- Programming languages including Python, C, C++, or CUDA for scalable software systems
- Deep learning frameworks including PyTorch and TensorFlow
- Presenting academic or personal AI projects
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to communicate technical concepts to both technical and nontechnical audiences
- Agentic AI, including LLM-driven AI agents and agentic RAG
- Building scalable, maintainable, production-ready machine learning systems
- Analyzing data and troubleshooting issues related to deployed AI systems
- Hybrid work arrangement: telecommuting permitted one day per week; four days in office
- Travel: no domestic or international travel required (as stated in the posting)
Education and Experience Alternate (if no Bachelor’s)
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field (or foreign equivalent)
- 1 year of experience in the job offered or related occupation
- 1 year of experience with the skills listed in the Requirements section

Compensation
- Salary range: USD 183,600 - 275,400 per year
- Total Direct Compensation philosophy considers base salary, bonus, and equity value
