Job Description

Join a Carmel, Indiana based civil engineering firm in an onsite Design Engineer role that prioritizes collaboration, growth, and stability. You will contribute to transportation design within a small, engaged team, performing hands-on technical work and mentoring junior engineers. Responsibilities

Lead transportation design efforts while guiding and supporting junior engineers
Develop preliminary and final design plans along with technical deliverables
Contribute to projects involving roadway rehabilitation and reconstruction, intersections, traffic signal systems, roundabouts, drainage, and shared-use paths
Apply INDOT, LPA, and AASHTO standards throughout all project phases
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy, quality, and timely execution

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
Active Indiana PE license or ability to obtain licensure within six months
4–8 years of experience in transportation engineering
Strong familiarity with INDOT standards, processes, and design criteria
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
Comfortable joining ongoing projects and contributing with minimal onboarding
