Job Description
Responsibilities
- Program, service, repair, and maintain electrical and process control systems.
- Troubleshoot complex automation issues across multiple control systems using RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk Studio ME, FactoryTalk Studio SE, and other applications.
- Design and implement PLC and HMI applications to improve manufacturing processes.
- Maintain and update electrical schematics using AutoCAD as needed.
- Communicate with department heads and key team members to ensure timely resolution of equipment problems.
- Provide after hours support (late night and/or weekends) in the event of a crisis.
- On-site presence is required to perform duties; remote VPN access can be used after hours for immediate support.
- Provide electrical and process control troubleshooting support for the maintenance team to minimize downtime.
- Contribute to the design of industrial control systems for new equipment.
- Coach and mentor the Controls Technicians, including goal setting, project assignment, and ensuring access to tools and knowledge to excel.
- Responsibilities may evolve with the business needs, including additional or varied duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 7 - 10+ years of Control System Engineering experience with a focus on manufacturing and control systems integration, preferably in the food and beverage industry.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Strong PLC/PAC/HMI/Network programming knowledge using Allen-Bradley RSLogix 500, RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk Studio ME/SE, FT Transaction Manager, FT Historian, RSNetworx, Ethernet/IP, AutoCad, SQL, OPC Servers, and MS Office Suite.
- Extensive hardware knowledge including ControlLogix, CompactLogix, GuardLogix, MicroLogix, PanelView Plus 6/7/8, VersaView, and managed/unmanaged ethernet switches.
- Familiarity with Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, ControlNet, and serial communications.
- Ability to manage projects from design to implementation with minimal supervision.
- Experience with Variable Frequency Drives and servos, emphasizing Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 40, 40P, 70, 700 series, 525, Kinetix, and SEW Eurodrives MoviMot/MoviDrive; strong VFD networking (Ethernet and serial).
- Capability to troubleshoot and diagnose complex safety circuits across multiple zones.
- Ability to use a DMM and clamp-on ammeter for diagnostics.
- Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose electrical and controls issues, identify root causes, and deliver quick and long-term solutions.
- Strong verbal, organizational, and written communication skills.
- Familiar with SAP and/or MES systems; SAP MII experience is a plus.
- Strict adherence to safety rules and regulations; ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- National Electrical Code application experience.

Compensation
Salary: USD 125,500 - 175,500 per year. Annual compensation: USD 125,500 - 175,500 based on experience plus bonus.
Work Location
Location: Torrance, CA (onsite).
