Job Description
Lead a multidisciplinary Space Systems engineering team in Redondo Beach, CA, overseeing the integration and testing of P093 R-Systems hardware while directing staffing, process improvements, and execution across production activities.
Responsibilities
- Direct daily prioritization, tasking, resource allocation, and execution for the program’s engineering technician workforce across multiple production activities.
- Provide clear shift start and end directions to engineering technician crews and collaborate with engineering to anticipate and resolve shop floor blockers.
- Serve as the first line adjudicator of resource conflicts impacting technician teams.
- Manage indirect and direct program budgets and capital assets.
- Escalate blockers promptly to program leadership and facilitate problem resolution.
- Engage with functional homerooms to develop sustainable staffing and pipeline planning for engineering technician crews.
- Conduct Performance Management for direct reports, including compensation actions, promotions, goal setting, development, coaching, and real-time feedback.
- Support section members with mentoring, coaching, recognition, and career development guidance.
- Manage all aspects of employee relations including conflict resolution.
- Promote an inclusive workplace that fosters community, addresses gender biases, and builds strong relationships.
- Support Functional Homeroom initiatives and projects such as process improvements, Event Response Teams, Corrective and Preventive Action implementations, and proposal efforts.
- Limited travel may be required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field with 5 years of technical experience, or Master’s Degree in a STEM field with 3 years of technical experience, or High School Diploma/GED with 11 years of technical experience.
- Proven leadership in multi-disciplinary teams, preferably within Integration, Test, and Launch campaigns.
- Strong capability in short and long-term planning, including resource allocation, schedule execution, and workforce development.
- Extensive technical experience with space vehicle mechanical systems, architecture, and testing procedures.
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to lead and support dynamic program schedules that may include shift work, weekends, and extended hours.
- Active SCI clearance required at time of application.

Compensation
Salary range: USD 146,600 - 219,800 per year.
