Job Description

Hybrid Marine Electronics Engineer role in Washington, DC focusing on C5I integration for USCG ships, supporting Coast Guard and Ship Design Group.

Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze electric and electronic systems for ship applications, including power generation, distribution, and centralized machinery monitoring and control.
  • Apply engineering principles to develop and evaluate moderately complex technical reports related to C5I systems onboard USCG vessels.
  • Assess how new or modified electronics impact overall system performance.
  • Review and adjudicate system design specifications, test requirements, Departures from Specification (DFS), Requests for Waiver (RFW), and Engineering Changes (ECs).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (preferred) with 8 to 10 years of related experience.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance; US citizenship required for clearance.
  • Minimum of 8 years documented experience developing and integrating systems involving electromagnetic energy transmission for sensor processing, remote sensing, communications, guidance and control, information processing, navigation and defense applications.
  • Meets DoD IAT Level II baseline certification requirements.
  • Prior experience with shipboard and defense C5I systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of US Navy, US Coast Guard, ABS and/or commercial ship design rules and regulations.

Pay Transparency Statement

Salary range for this role is USD 110,800.00 per year to USD 120,000.00 per year. Actual compensation is determined by multiple factors permitted by law.
