Job Description

Hudson Manpower is seeking a controls engineer with deep expertise in Mark VIe and VIeS systems to design, implement, and commission control software and hardware for power generation projects. This onsite Greenville, SC contract role focuses on delivering robust control solutions, including Gamma Thermometer data acquisition, HMI screens, and site-specific requirements, bridging engineering design with field deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and commission new control loops aligned with site requirements.
  • Upgrade and modify control software for Mark V, Mark VI, and Mark VIe platforms.
  • Develop control software per standards and contractual criteria, with final demonstration and approval by the technical lead.
  • Collaborate on the Gamma Thermometer Data Acquisition System and establish system requirements.
  • Deliver the final design and prototype for the Gamma Thermometer Data Acquisition System.
  • Review control philosophy, P&ID diagrams, instrument lists, and flow charts.
  • Identify and report discrepancies between P&IDs, signal lists, and other inputs prior to software implementation.
  • Configure data links and test CIMPLICITY screens.
  • Execute Software Acceptance Tests (SWAT) to validate readiness.
  • Modify controls software for power generation steam systems and adjust HMI screens for power projects.
  • Implement TILs and ensure alignment with customer requirements; collaborate with stakeholders to clarify specs.
  • Write, test, and develop requirements for application code and failure-mode driven validation methodologies.
  • Provide startup and remote commissioning support, working with experts to resolve issues.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of TOOLBOX ST and CIMPLICITY for steam turbine and plant control applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven experience writing control logic using ladder logic, statement lists, and block logic diagrams for PLC/DCS engineering.
  • Experience with MKVIe and ToolboxST.
  • Solid communication, presentation, and project management capabilities.
  • Experience in global, matrixed organizations with the ability to make timely, data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and prioritize to meet objectives.
  • Self-starter who can take on broad-based assignments with minimal supervision.
