Job Description

COCC is seeking a Mobile Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain native Android and iOS banking experiences. This role combines hands-on mobile development with opportunities to influence product direction, with a focus on automation and efficient delivery in a hybrid work setup based in Southington, CT.

Responsibilities

  • Create, implement, and maintain native Android and iOS applications using Kotlin, Java, Swift, and Objective-C.
  • Partner with product managers, UX designers, architects, and fellow engineers to define and deliver new features and enhancements.
  • Navigate a complex mobile ecosystem that includes both internally developed and vendor-supported components, contributing to modernization and long-term maintainability.
  • Identify opportunities to boost development efficiency through automation, tooling, CI/CD improvements, and streamlined processes.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, performance bottlenecks, and technical debt while upholding high quality standards.
  • Engage in code reviews, technical design discussions, and architectural decisions shaping the future of the mobile platform.
  • Remain current with mobile development trends, frameworks, and best practices, bringing innovative ideas to the team.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience delivering native mobile applications for Android and/or iOS in production environments.
  • Strong proficiency with Kotlin, Java, Swift, and/or Objective-C, including building, testing, and supporting customer-facing apps.
  • Experience in Agile settings with CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps practices, and modern delivery methodologies.
  • Orientation toward automation, operational efficiency, and reducing friction across the software development lifecycle.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
