Pavements & Materials Engineer Technician

Flexible Pavements of Ohio (FPO) is hiring a Pavements & Materials Engineer/Technician for Southern and Southwest Ohio, based in Dublin, OH (onsite).

Responsibilities

• Share technical information and provide support to FPO members, public and private pavement owners via written documentation, oral presentations, and in person events
• Conduct field assessments including:
  • Onsite project reviews
  • Pre-construction asphalt design and mixture recommendations
  • Post construction evaluation
• Represent the industry’s interests before state, federal, and local government agencies and participate in affiliated industry committees and associations
• Develop training, deliver instruction, and provide technical presentations
• Assist with written technical publications and articles

Requirements

• Proficient in computer skills and software, including Microsoft Office and web-based communication tools
• Detail oriented with a very strong customer focus
• Working knowledge of pavement design and construction, including:
  • Mixture types
  • Pavement thickness design
  • Pavement maintenance
• Excellent written, verbal, and electronic communication skills
• Degree preferred in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
• Relevant work experience will be considered
• Working knowledge of the Ohio Department of Transportation Construction & Materials Specifications

Additional Requirements / Preferences

• State of Ohio Professional Engineer registration preferred
• Regional and out of state travel required
